Wii Sells Through More Than Two Million Units

Nintendo announces that Wii(TM) has sold through more than two million* units in Australia! This milestone was achieved in 47 months and establishes Wii as the fastest selling home console. Previously Nintendo DS® held this record, selling through two million units in 52 months.

Wii is an interactive video game system that lets anyone play, regardless of age, gender or gaming experience. Wii launched in December 2006 and ushered in a new era of video games. The built-in motion controls of the iconic Wii Remote(TM) controller attracted new players to the world of video games. Wii is now available with a new, improved remote, Wii Remote(TM) Plus. Wii Remote Plus is the original Wii Remote, with Wii MotionPlus(TM) functionality built in!

Wii is available in either black or white at a suggested retail price of SRP AU$299.95 / SRP NZ$388.00**. This price offers a great value to consumers, as it includes two games, Wii Sports(TM) and Wii Sports Resort(TM), as well as the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk(TM) controller.
